Hi Carolyn, its Carolyn :-) YES, I couldn't agree with you more,
Tadpoles would have to be one of the best cd's i have listened to,and
so is Big River.. THEY ARE FANTASTIC.. just listening to the history
involved in the lyric is very nostalgic. I actually feel i learn about
other countries when i listen to good lyric..that is WHY i am surprised
Jimmy would even want to sing other peoples songs,, as he is such a
talented writer himself.. Yes, i also agree that 10 great songs is JUST
THAT............. 10 great songs,,, but sung by the originals not for
Jimmy to sing!!.. I feel his voice can not cope with the various chord
and range/pitch levels.I can even say, to ME, his Voice often came
across as being rather FLAT.. and that comes across really plainly,
when listening to the cd.. I have played it about 6 times and SORRY,
doesn't do a thing for me.. Perhaps, in the future, Jimmy will think
twice about releasing a cover cd.SO JIMMY KEEP WRITING YOUR GREAT

Didn't like the 10 Songs album? I think Jimmy's arrangements of "House
of the Rising Sun", "Something", and "Walking on the Moon" are just
incredible!
They may be covers but they lose nothing in originality.

Hi Carolyn (Australia) I had to look twice when I saw my name posted!
thought I was going mad, there's not that many of us about!! I have to
agree with you on your post. 10 Great Songs is probably my least
favourite, although I could listen to"Something" every day, Jim can
write such wonderful lyrics (Tadpoles in a jar being my favourite,it
brings back so many memories,)that it seems a waste of his talents to
cover others songs. Here's hoping for a new album soon.

| I am a huge fan of Jimmy Nail,I have all of spender,croc. shoes 1 -&-
2 and all of the Auf Pet 1-&-2,AND VARIOUS movies,and every one of his
cd's.all of which ihave watched and listened to,year after year, but i
have to tell you I waited 6-7 months for his last cd, to arrive in my
hot eager little hands,[some things take ages to get to australia].
I couldn't wait to get it home and put it on.. God, what a
disappointment, i mean all of Jimmy's previous cd's have been of such
high quality, production wise, and this cd, was just crap.. sorry
Jimmy, but i think you better get back and start to show an interest in
what you do best,make great music. OF YOUR OWN, NOT SOMEONE ELSES OLD
HITS.. you should have kept 10great songs etc. for your bathroom... not
on the record shelves.. but i still love ya!! sorry to be so critical,
but felt that i should air my views.. best wishes to Alan and Sharon,,
great job on the site by the way.. talk soon.. lol

I don't know him personally. I have also just seen your entry
for the 27th June. its not that i hate him i was a huge fan, none
bigger in fact, until i met him and found out he is not the person i
thought he would be. i said "Hi" to him while he was walking near the
venue in Southport 2001 and he was quite aggresive to me and that is
why i'm like this about him now. as i have said on previous entries
manners cost nothing!!!

| his real name is what you say. he told us crowd at a concert that he
got the name "nail" after standing on one at work, and it went through
his foot. So the lads gave him the name of "nail". how true it is i
don't know, he could have said that just for the hell of it knowing
what he is like. |

Throughly enjoyed the new series of Auf Pet, I didn't think they would
be able to do the original series justice but it was great - well done
to the lads especially Jimmy.
Hope to see Jimmy out again on tour before to long, didn't get chance
to go to any of his last gigs.

sorry if you think it is all cr*p but it does hurt when someone you
think is great, turns out nasty to you for no reason. I have met other
stars and have been treated great by them. Even met Robert Carlise
(Full Monty)in our local Safeway he shook my hand, not me his. I agree
Jimmy is a good all rounder, but manners cost nothing, at the end of
the day WE pay him his wages either through ticket sales or TV
licience. How would you take it if a shop assistant was rude to you???
WE also pay their wages don't WE??? So what is the difference NONE.

Jimmy Nail is NASTY. i have met him and got verbal abuse from him he
was on HIS own, before a concert NOT with his family were he might want
to be alone with them. I had loved him for years not anymore though!!!!
So if you Neil M have not met him you can not comment on him!!!!!! |

Professional entertainers perform an act to try to please, amuse, or at
the very least divert people. Consequently, they are subject to public
criticism of their professional performance and justifiably so. We
should all expect a "job evaluation" of some sort.
We read about their antics and accomplishments (true or false) we
invite them into our homes via TV or listen to them through our sound
systems and car stereos, or we attend live performances; as a result,
their persona is familiar to us. Subsequently, a relationship with
certain perceived responsibilities can develop with said persona
because they share moments in our lives that invoke memories of one

However, the reverse is not necessarily the case. Obviously, for them,
personal feelings cannot possibly go much beyond the gratification that

| sharon your site is brilliant i was wondering if you knew whether or
not jimmy has seen it . i thought i would tell you about the concert i
went to in birmingham about 3 years ago my friend and i sat next to pat
roach we got talking to him as you do and he said he would get us
passes to see jimmy after the show . to say that i nearly died was a
under statement. when at the end of the show my friend and i walked to
the front of the stage pat roach was no where to be seen. surprise
surprise . i was so upset (i am 34 years old ). MY HUSBAND THOUGHT I
WAS A NUTTER if only ....... |

I also think Jimmy is a great actor (though his music stinks !, Fact)
No matter what your chosen profession, you should still be pleasant
with people. He's just a big bully. Im 5ft 10", very stocky -&- a
skin head haircut, if I ever see jimmy , I will say hello (his acting
has given me great joy !), but if he is rude to me, I'll knock the CR*P
out of him (as I would anybody else).
These sissy meadia bullies like him -&- that puff Russel Crowe need
bringing into the real world.
Just be nice, it takes more courage than being nasty. |

| i have been in love with jimmy nail since i first saw him some 17yrs
ago, auf pet was and is fantastic, i just think he is gorgeous. most
of my mates and family think im mad but there is something about him
that gets me going, accent, looks, height, or the way he wears his
underpants im unsure, but by god he does it for me.. keep appearing on
my screen jimmy as im not sure i will ever get to meet you in person,
(damn). but hey heres hopin...sharon i love your site to. |

I GET SO MAD WHEN PEOPLE SAY JIMMY THIS JIMMY THAT. IF YOU LIKE WHAT HE
DOSE IN MUSIC AND TV WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM. WOULD YOU LIKE PEOPLE COMING
UP TO YOU IN THE STREET SAYING "I LOVE YOU JIMMY" I THINK NOT.
YOU GET GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY WHEN YOU SEE HIM IN CONCERT AND ON EVERY
CD.
JUST LEAVE THE POOR CHAP ALONE TO HAVE A PRIVATE LIFE.
WHAT HE GETS UPTO WHEN MAKING TV PROGRAMES AND MUSIC IS NO CONCERN OF
OURS.

I've heard from many many people in the TV business -&- outside that
Jimmy Nail is an arrogant egotistical yob. This is a dam shame as his
TV persona's are superb -&- very very likeable. He's obviously a very
very good actor.
Dont't forget Jimmy Karma always catched up ... try a be nice to people. |

| Been waiting for this current series for yonks!!!! Have all the past
episodes on video, and often watch 'em all.....sad? I dont think
so...ha ha ha. Love every episode ever made, but if i had to choose a
favourite series, it would be the Barry's house/Thornley Manor era!!

| Hi ive been a big fan of jimmy's work for the last 17 years,my
favourite is SPENDER.I still watch it regulary and its like a fine
wine,it gets better every year it gets older-&-and it still doesn't
look dated.I always hoped they would make a forth series of SPENDER but
with the tragic passing away of sammy johnson(R.I.P)that dream is now
gone.The new AUF PET is fantastic its been a long time coming,but it's
been worth the wait.Does anyone have the third series of spender on
video,as mine got damaged and im desperate to get another copy.If you
could help i would be so gratefull,any way tara for now pet! |

When they were fiming SPENDER the house they used was in Holly Avenue
Gosforth NC/LE. The owner, a friend and collegue at work would not say
just how much he was paid for the use of his house but it was
substantial. |

Are they the same Undies he had in the First Series in the Hut, They
were looking a little loose and he seemed rather well !!!!!, You know!.
Look forward to Episode 2 , I felt sorry for Dennis, i wanted to give
him a hug bless. Paul ? who was Butch Dingle in Emmerdale did well with
the Geordie accent i was impressed. When are we going to see you on

Glasgow,and twice at Edinburgh Playhouse, the last tour being 10 great
songs and an Okay voice, he was simply fabulous, Does any one know if

| Since the very first Auf Weidersehen, Pet I've been hooked ! Thanks to
Jimmy I've discovered a brilliant band called 'Celtus' - you might
remember they were the support act for Jimmy's 1999 tour. Love them,
love Jimmy. Definately need another tour ... ages since Hackney Empire
and the 10 great songs tour ... Great to find this site today too ! |

| come on jimmy whats going on. I have heard quite a few reports lately
of you being rude and surly towards people who have been fans of yours
for quite a long time. Don't forget its these people who watched your
programmes, bought your records and paid to see you in
concert. .......don't they just deserve a moment of your time for a
quick hello or autograph. Of course we understand that you are a
private person and like your personal space when out with your family
which we can understand, but there is no excuse for verbal abuse
towards anybody. I have been a fan for many years, seen you many times
in concert but have never met you. I hope that if eventually I do I
find you are the likeable person I've thought you to be all these years
and nothing like the person I've been reading about. |
